Our client is specialised in the development and implementation of SMS-related mobile services.
Their goal is to integrate the latest mobile and Internet technology tailored to your company goals.
They operate a direct connection on our SMS gateway via all European and several international telecom operators.
Through their partnerships are the the ideal party to manage transactions with your customers via mobile phones, the Internet and other interactive channels in a safe and professional manner.
She is market leader in premium SMS services in the Netherlands and also operates in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
The goal of the vacancy
1 – Solely working in a team of 4 programmers;
2 – Developping SMS and MMS applications.
DESCRIPTION
Their current system is for a large part implemented in Perl and PHP.
Parts of this system need to be rewritten to accomodate new requirements. The task of the programmer will be:
- to develop reusable components for diverse subsystems based on simple functional and/or technical specifications, and
- (to assist in) the upgrade and/or migration of those subsystems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A couple of years of programming in a UNIX environment
- A good command of the Perl programming language
- Ability to (judge when to) use an Object Oriented style
- Ability to write meaningful unit tests for reusable code
- Apache / CGI / web page generation
- (My)SQL
DESIRED SKILLS
- SSL/TLS (as used in HTTPS and VPN)
- user authentication and authorisation modules
- XML
- knowing what "Perl" stands for.
